Uchū Senkan Gomorrah Overview
Uchū Senkan Gomorrah is a horizontal shooter where players pilot a bio-ship defending the planet Atlantal. The setting involves an alien fleet called The Aggressors devastating the capital, prompting the deployment of this powerful vessel.
Its control scheme distinguishes it from many shooters. While the ship fires forward conventionally, an independent aiming cursor allows shots to be directed freely in any direction. This cursor control, adjusted for the home version, makes the game challenging as the ship must halt to maneuver it.
Progression occurs across nine stages, each concluding with a boss encounter. The experience supports solo or two-player simultaneous action. Collectible power-ups modify the ship's capabilities, offering enhancements like speed, extra guns, and increased armor that also enlarges the vessel.
