Wings of Wor Overview
Wings of Wor is a horizontal shoot'em up with a horror aesthetic. The player controls Wor, an angelic being from a race known as the Flying Men, tasked with cleansing his home planet Iccus from a viral infestation that has produced monstrous mutants.
Gameplay involves navigating through six distinct levels, each typically featuring both a mid-boss and a larger boss encounter. The structure is challenging, as progress lacks checkpoints; instead, the player resumes at the point of death if extra lives remain. Offensive capabilities include three distinct shot types, which can be enhanced to increase both their projectile count and their strength.
These weapons vary in their firing patterns, offering forward, triangular, and more concentrated spreads that can cover areas to the rear. Movement speed can be increased by collecting feathers, a mechanic reminiscent of power-up systems in other shooters.
