Warsong Overview
Warsong introduced its strategy series to audiences outside Japan, where it is titled Langrisser. The gameplay revolves around commanding generals, who are individually powerful characters, and the groups of units they lead.
Battles are turn-based and take place in a medieval fantasy world. Terrain plays a significant role in these engagements, affecting combat outcomes. When conflicts between units are resolved, brief battle animations are displayed.
Each general can direct up to eight units, which include standard military types such as soldiers and archers, as well as more unusual creatures. These units possess specific tactical attributes, creating a system of strengths and weaknesses; for instance, cavalry will typically overcome soldiers. Beyond basic movement and attacks, generals have access to additional commands like healing or spellcasting.
