George Foreman's KO Boxing Overview
"George Foreman's KO Boxing" is a sports simulation for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System where the player assumes the role of the titular heavyweight champion. The objective is to progress through a series of matches to win the championship belt.
Matches are viewed from a third-person perspective behind the boxer. Core actions include lateral movement for evasion, blocking, and throwing punches. Punches are differentiated between standard crosses and jabs, which are executed with a specific directional input. A challenging aspect is managing an on-screen energy meter that depletes when the boxer is struck.
Fights have a maximum duration of three rounds. A match can end in a knockout if a boxer is knocked down four times total, or three times within a single round. When knocked down, a player must rapidly press both punch buttons to attempt a stand. A special superpunch, which inflicts greater damage, becomes available as a reward for successful offensive and defensive play.
Energy can be partially recovered after a knockdown and between rounds. The game supports two-player competition in most versions, and a password system allows players to save their progression through the championship.
