Cricket 97 Overview

Cricket 97 is a simulation of international cricket, covering both batting and bowling disciplines. The game features realistic player movements achieved through motion capture technology.

Multiple match formats are available, including Test Matches and One-Day Internationals. A unique World Challenge mode and a shorter Fast Match option are also present. Matches can be played against the computer or against another human via network or modem connection.

Player and team management is a key component, allowing for the creation of custom teams and the adjustment of individual skill ratings. The game attempts to model authentic player intelligence and field placement strategies.

Its presentation adopts a television broadcast style, complete with commentary and pre-match pitch analysis. Various international cricket grounds are represented as playable venues.
