Goal! is a soccer title for the Game Boy where the primary objective is to win a tournament by defeating a set number of opposing national teams. International sides available for selection include Argentina, Canada, England, France, Germany, and Italy.
The game distinguishes itself from other handheld soccer titles through its use of a diagonal top-down perspective during matches. Progress is tracked via a password system, with a 24-character code provided after each session to allow for continuation. Tournament standings and win-loss records for all teams are displayed to the player.
While Exhibition and Penalty Kick modes are present, only success in the Super Cup mode constitutes beating the game.
