SimAnt – The Electronic Ant Colony Overview

Alt. Names: SimAnt: La Fourmilière Électronique, SimAnt: Die Elektronische Ameisen Kolonie, SimAnt: Die Trick-Kolonie, SimAnt: La Colonia Electrónica de Hormigas, SimAnt: La Colonie de Fourmis Électroniques, SimAnt: The Electronic Ant Colony, シムアント

SimAnt is a simulation game where the player manages a black ant colony with the objective of dominating a yard and house. Victory requires eliminating rival red ant colonies and eventually driving the human residents from their home through infestation.

Control is exercised both at the colony level and through direct command of individual ants. The player begins as a queen, founding a nest and determining the production of different ant types: workers for gathering food and building, soldiers for combat and defense, and breeders to establish new colonies. Direct control allows for tasks like foraging, combating spiders and caterpillars, or assaulting enemy hills, though surface hazards like rain and lawn mowers pose risks.

Expansion is achieved by dispersing breeders to adjacent sectors of the environment, allowing the player to shift focus to these new areas once a nest is established. The game includes educational notes on real ant biology and offers a Quick Game mode focused on ant battles alongside a full tutorial.
