Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe Overview
Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe is a World War II air combat simulation set between 1943 and 1945. Players assume the role of either American or German pilots, with access to a range of contemporary aircraft. The German arsenal includes both conventional piston-engine fighters and several experimental designs, such as jet and rocket-powered planes, which can be researched and deployed.
Gameplay is structured through multiple modes. A strategic campaign allows players to manage the broader war effort from either side, planning missions and guiding industrial production. For the Germans, this involves protecting industry and developing advanced weapons, while the American objective focuses on strategic bombing. Individual progression is tracked in a Tour of Duty mode, where pilots complete missions to earn promotions and medals.
Missions are based on historical encounters or can be created using an included editor. Players can control various aircraft, from fighters to bombers, with some bomber cockpits offering control over gun turrets and bombing systems. A film playback feature is also available for reviewing missions.
