Night Shift is a puzzle platformer where players assume the role of a factory maintenance worker. The setting is a facility operated by Industrial Might & Logic, a fictional company that produces licensed merchandise.
Players choose between two characters, Fred or Fiona Fixit, to keep the production line functional. Their objective involves moving through the factory to resolve various mechanical issues that disrupt manufacturing.
The core structure consists of six distinct work periods, each presenting specific objectives to complete. Successfully managing these tasks is central to the gameplay, which incorporates the use of different tools. Performing well can yield rewards such as additional time or points.
