The Ren & Stimpy Show: Time Warp is a side-scrolling platformer where the comedic pair must prevent their hero, Muddy Mudskipper, from altering history. Their journey spans five distinct eras, including a prehistoric setting and a modern city.
Gameplay involves navigating stages while avoiding environmental traps and hostile creatures, some of which can temporarily stun the characters. Players utilize an assortment of unconventional weapons, such as beaver saws, to overcome enemies. Between the main platforming sections, the perspective shifts to side-scrolling shooter sequences where a spacecraft is piloted through time portals.
Characters can recover health through specific power-ups, and points are accumulated by collecting currency symbols. The project features voice work provided by Billy West.
