The 7th Saga is set in the land of Ticondera, where the central objective involves locating seven hidden crystals. Players select from a roster of seven protagonists, each defined by unique starting attributes and a specialized combat focus.
Exploration occurs from a 2.5D perspective, but the viewpoint shifts to an over-the-shoulder semi-3D presentation for turn-based battles. A character's chosen specialty largely determines whether their combat approach relies on physical melee or magical attacks. While enemies are not visibly present in the field, their approximate locations are indicated by white dots on a radar map.
