Tecmo Super Baseball offers a standard set of baseball simulation modes, such as Exhibition and All-Star games. A full Season mode is present, with the option to play a shortened schedule or simulate matches entirely.
The game includes a roster of 700 real players from the MLBPA, featuring stars like Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds. While it uses 1993 statistics and all 28 teams from that season, it lacks official MLB licensing, so team names and logos are not represented.
Players can choose to manage their team strategically or engage in direct competition with another person through its two-player functionality. Progress and statistics can be preserved using the cartridge's battery backup save feature.
