Drakkhen Overview
Drakkhen is a role playing game where the player controls a party of four heroes, including warriors and magicians, on a mission to stop a dragon invasion. The emperor has sent them to solve the puzzle of tears and confront the dragon lords who are preparing to conquer the world from a distant island.
Gameplay involves navigating two distinct visual environments. Exterior travel occurs across flat, vector based landscapes where two dimensional objects are scaled, a presentation method later seen in other titles. Inside the palaces, the perspective shifts to two dimensional interiors that form mazes of chambers.
Throughout both settings, the party engages in real time combat against monsters and the minions of the Drakkhen. The indoor sections require solving puzzles to progress. The status and equipment of all four party members are constantly visible in individual windows on the left side of the screen.
