Rolling Thunder 2 Overview
Rolling Thunder 2 is a side-scrolling action game where players assume the roles of agents Albert Ross or Leila. Their mission is to confront a terrorist organization responsible for disrupting global information networks.
The core gameplay involves shooting enemies while navigating stages. Players begin with a standard handgun but can acquire more powerful armaments during the mission. The arcade release featured a two-player cooperative mode.
The Sega Genesis adaptation expanded upon the original with entirely new stages, enemies, and boss encounters. Existing levels were modified to include additional protective cover and bonus items. This version also integrated two new weapons, a laser and a flamethrower, into the arsenal.
Narrative elements were enhanced through extended cutscenes between stages. A password system was implemented, allowing players to resume progress from any stage they had already reached.
