Road Rash 2 combines motorcycle racing with direct physical combat. Players compete in races across different environments to earn money, which is then used to purchase improved motorcycles.
The racing is challenging due to environmental hazards like vehicles, rocks, and signs; collisions can result in crashes that cost time and potentially damage the bike. Opposing racers are not just competitors but targets for attacks, starting with basic punches. Weapons can be taken from other riders and used against them.
Law enforcement is present on the courses, and being caught by police will end a race. This integration of fighting mechanics positions the title as more than a standard racing game.
