Town & Country Surf Designs II: Thrilla's Surfari Overview
T&C 2: Thrilla's Surfari is a side-scrolling action game where the player controls Thrilla Gorilla. The plot is set in motion when an evil Kahuna named Wazula kidnaps Thrilla's girlfriend, Barbi Bikini, in Hawaii, prompting Thrilla's rescue mission.
Gameplay primarily involves navigating Thrilla on a skateboard through a series of stages, avoiding obstacles and enemies. This core mechanic extends to other contexts, including surfing on a surfboard and riding a shark underwater. In the underwater segments, Thrilla can throw spears at enemies. The adventure spans seven worlds, most containing five stages, though the first and third worlds have four each.
Interspersed throughout the levels are power-ups, such as a banana that restores health. Between stages, a shell game minigame offers players a chance to earn extra lives. The game also features boss encounters where Thrilla must defeat adversaries by throwing coconuts or spears to deplete their health.
