Town & Country Surf Designs - Wood & Water Rage is a two-part sports title for the NES, offering distinct skateboarding and surfing experiences. Players can select from a roster of characters such as Thrilla Gorilla, Kool Kat, Joe Cool, and Tiki Man to participate in either activity.
The skateboarding portion, known as Street Skate Session, presents a side-scrolling obstacle course. Success here depends on navigating the course within a time limit while performing tricks, jumping over objects, and gathering bonuses to maximize the score. The game ends if the player crashes excessively, falls into a hole, or runs out of time, making the experience challenging.
Similarly, the surfing game, called Big Wave Encounter, tasks the player with riding a large wave to shore. Points are accumulated through tricks and collecting bonuses, with repeated crashes leading to a game over. A dedicated mode allows players to engage with both sports sequentially, alternating between the wood of the skateboard and the water of the surf.
