Ninja Kid is a side scrolling action title adapted from a Japanese animated series. The player controls the protagonist through a succession of levels with distinct settings, such as a Blazing Inferno or a Poison Field.
Progression is managed from an overhead map, which provides access to the side scrolling stages. These stages continue until a specific objective is fulfilled, causing a door to materialize. This door may lead back to the map or directly into a confrontation with a boss.
Opposition comes in various forms, including crows, flying demons, Frankenstein monsters, and other ninjas. While the character primarily uses ninja bullets, power ups like boomerangs, ninja stars, and fireballs can be collected during play.
