Ghosts ‘N Goblins Overview
Ghosts 'N Goblins is a side-scrolling action platformer where the knight Arthur undertakes a rescue mission. His objective is to save the Princess from the Demon King Astaroth, who commands a variety of adversaries including goblins, undead creatures, and other monsters.
The journey progresses through six distinct stages, such as forests and caverns, with a strict time limit imposed on each. The game is considered challenging, with hazards and enemy patterns increasing in difficulty. Arthur's basic movement includes walking and jumping, while his primary means of defense is a lance.
A distinctive vulnerability system exists where a single hit from an enemy removes Arthur's armor, leaving him in his undergarments. A subsequent hit results in the loss of a life. Throughout the levels, players can find enhanced weapons like daggers and bombs to replace the starting lance, offering more powerful attacks against the forces they encounter.
