Dezaemon Overview
Dezaemon is a software tool for the Nintendo Entertainment System that enables users to build their own vertical scrolling shoot 'em up games. The creation process encompasses visual design for the player's ship and the construction of up to three distinct stages, alongside the ability to craft a custom title screen.
Beyond level design, the application provides tools for composing original background music and generating a credits list to acknowledge the creators of the custom game. As a demonstration of the engine's capabilities, a pre-made game titled E.D.I.T. is included, featuring three stages of a space themed shooter.
In this sample game, players confront successive waves of foes, culminating in a boss encounter at each stage's conclusion. Collectible items during play modify the ship's capabilities, offering upgrades to weaponry such as lasers or missiles, increasing movement speed, or providing a temporary defensive shield.
