Bases Loaded II - Second Season is a baseball simulation for the NES where the player assumes the role of a team manager. The core experience involves guiding a chosen team through a full professional season, with the ultimate goal of reaching the World Series.
Managerial duties extend beyond setting lineups, as the game incorporates a unique psychological layer. Player Performance Ratings track three fluctuating attributes—physical, sensitivity, and intellectual—which simulate real-world athletic streaks and slumps. This system requires the manager to interpret these changing states when making decisions.
The game offers a choice of twelve teams split between Eastern and Western divisions. In addition to the single-player season mode, a two-player competitive option is available. The on-field gameplay maintains the realistic action established by the series' first installment.
