Super Kick Off Overview
Super Kick Off is a football simulation for the Game Boy, an adaptation of a console title by Dino Dini. Its gameplay is distinguished by a top-down perspective and a ball physics system where the ball does not remain attached to players, requiring separate control.
The game provides a substantial roster of forty teams, split between national and club sides. Extensive customization is possible, as users can modify club names, kit designs, and individual player names and appearances. All such edits are saved directly to the cartridge.
Match conditions can be adjusted through several options, including player speed, wind effects, and the length of the grass on the pitch. Standard match rules like half length, offside, and extra time are also configurable, alongside a challenging difficulty setting.
Multiple competitive structures are available, ranging from single friendlies to full domestic and European league campaigns, as well as international cup tournaments. For practice, a training mode isolates skills like free kicks, penalties, and dribbling. The game supports both head-to-head competition and cooperative play against computer-controlled opponents.
