Baseball Kids Overview

Alt. Names: Baseball Kids, ベースボールキッズ

Baseball Kids is a portable baseball title for the Game Boy, derived from the NES game Bases Loaded. The competition is structured around two regional teams, representing the East and West Coasts, rather than official Major League organizations.

Gameplay involves managing a nine-inning match where pitchers employ a variety of throws, including fast, slow, and curving pitches. Each player character possesses individual statistics that define their pitching rating or their batting and running capabilities. Players can engage in a single, unofficial game of a chosen length or attempt an official series of consecutive matches against increasingly challenging opponents, which functions as a substitute for a season mode. This progression must be completed in one session, as the cartridge lacks a battery save function.

Two distinct regional gameplay modes, USA and Japan, offer slight variations. For multiplayer, a head-to-head option is available but requires two Game Boy units, a link cable, and a separate cartridge for each participant.
