Pro Yakyuu Stadium '91 Overview
Pro Yakyuu Stadium '91 is a baseball simulation for the Game Boy, developed under the supervision of former professional player Osamu Higashio. It includes twelve teams representing Japanese national leagues, populated with real players identified by abbreviated names.
Two primary modes structure the experience. In Tournament Mode, one or two players compete in a series of matches. Pennant Mode involves playing through either the Central or Pacific League with the objective of winning the championship, which can lead to a special match against an All-Star team curated by Higashio.
Gameplay is divided into distinct phases where the player assumes control of different positions. When batting, the focus is on positioning and timing the swing. During fielding, the pitcher must manage the ball's trajectory and velocity. Once a hit is made, the perspective shifts to controlling base runners, requiring quick decisions to advance before the ball is retrieved.
