Garfield Labyrinth Overview
Garfield Labyrinth is a puzzle and platform game where the core objective is to escape a series of maze-like levels. The premise involves the protagonist falling into a labyrinth after a bridge collapses, with the only goal being to locate and unlock the exit in each stage.
Progression requires collecting every gem in a level to open the exit, while navigating past enemies and environmental traps. A central tool is a pneumatic hammer, used from the outset to drill through blocks and create pathways without becoming trapped. The player manages an inventory for items like keys and bombs, the latter serving to eliminate foes.
Each stage imposes a time limit, and the character possesses a health bar that allows them to sustain multiple hits before losing a life. Upon completing a level, the game provides a password for continued progress. The regional versions, which feature different characters like Garfield or Mickey Mouse, are otherwise identical in content and design.
The level layouts are adapted from the Amiga title P. P. Hammer and His Pneumatic Weapon, with modifications made to accommodate the hardware of the Game Boy.
