Game Boy Wars Overview
Game Boy Wars is a turn based strategy title where two opposing armies, Red Star and White Moon, engage in conflict across sixteen maps. Victory on each map is achieved by eliminating all enemy military forces or seizing control of their capital city.
Economic management is central to gameplay, as constructing and repairing the available twenty four unit types requires funds. Income is generated by holding cities and production facilities. The type of unit that can be built is restricted by the building occupying a space; land units come from factories and cities, while airports and harbors are necessary for air and sea units respectively.
Players issue a variety of orders to their units, including direct attacks, support actions, and the capture of enemy structures. Combat is resolved through brief animated sequences. The game supports two players sharing a single Game Boy, and features a battery save function that allows progress to be recorded even in the middle of a battle.
