Power Mission is a turn based naval strategy game. Players each select a fleet assembled from eight distinct unit types, each with its own combat statistics such as attack power and firing distance.
Before combat begins, fleets are deployed on opposite halves of the map. The core loop involves spending a set number of actions per turn to maneuver units, conduct reconnaissance, or engage the enemy. Enemy positions remain hidden until a friendly unit is close enough to activate its radar systems.
Victory is achieved by the total elimination of the opposing force. The single player campaign is structured as a sequence of eleven battles that must be completed in a fixed order, which presents a challenging progression.
