Xenon 2: Megablast Overview
Xenon 2: Megablast is a vertical shooter where players navigate through multiple stages. Each level concludes with a confrontation against a boss, following encounters with numerous enemy waves.
Destroying these enemies provides currency, which can be spent at an in-game shop called Colin's Bargain Basement. Here, funds are exchanged for ship enhancements, including improved weaponry, increased speed, and stronger defenses. Certain power-ups are also available to collect directly during gameplay.
The visual design shifts between organic environments in the initial stages and more mechanical adversaries later on. Navigation includes some confined, maze-like areas where pressing the down key will cause the ship to reverse its scrolling direction.
