Tempest 2000 Overview
Tempest 2000 is a DOS adaptation of an earlier arcade shooter. The player controls a craft on the edge of a geometric web, defending against creatures that emerge from its center. Progression involves advancing through more than one hundred levels.
Power-ups are available during play, including a jump ability and AI drones. The audiovisual presentation is characterized by vibrant, abstract graphics and a driving techno soundtrack. Successfully gathering certain items unlocks distinct bonus stages, one set on rings and another inside a spiral tube.
Four distinct game modes are offered. These encompass a traditional single-player experience, a two-player cooperative or competitive duel mode, an enhanced version, and a rendition of the original arcade game.
