Tyrian Overview
Tyrian is a shoot 'em up video game for DOS. The player controls a fighter pilot named Trent Hawkings, who repeatedly confronts the hostile corporation MicroSol across the galaxy.
Gameplay involves navigating through levels, some of which are revisited with variations, while facing threats and betrayals from former allies. The narrative includes the death of the protagonist's parents and a series of missions aimed at eliminating MicroSol.
Extensive customization is a central feature, with options to modify the ship's hull, shields, and generators. Players can select from numerous front and rear weapons and employ auxiliary ship companions, with the total selection encompassing over a dozen ship types and more than a hundred weapons.
The game supports both single-player and two-player cooperative arcade action. Multiplayer can be conducted over a network or via modem and serial connections.
