Rick Dangerous is a platform game where the player controls an adventurer reminiscent of Indiana Jones. The narrative begins with a search for a lost Amazon tribe, but a plane crash immediately places the protagonist among hostile locals. Subsequent stages shift to an Egyptian pyramid and a Nazi base, each filled with traps and enemies.
Gameplay spans more than one hundred screens and requires a challenging, methodical approach. Success depends on memorizing trap locations and anticipating dangers. The character is equipped with a gun for horizontal attacks and dynamite for other threats, with limited explosives necessitating strategic use.
