OutRun presents a racing experience where the player drives a Ferrari accompanied by a passenger. The perspective is from behind and above the vehicle.
Navigating the roads is challenging due to tight corners and obstacles that can cause the car to spin out, resulting in a time penalty. The course structure is branching, with a choice of direction offered at the end of each segment. A complete run consists of five stages selected from a larger set of fifteen possible sections.
