Operation: Cleanstreets is a game where the player character, Dirty Harry, combats various adversaries across a limited number of urban screens. The objective involves confronting figures such as ninjas, punks, and individuals wielding chainsaws to obtain illegal substances they carry.
Combat is conducted using unarmed techniques, as the character relies solely on fists and feet. After defeating an opponent and collecting the dropped drugs, the player must exit the town area to incinerate the substances in a designated barrel. This act of burning the drugs serves a functional purpose, restoring the character's health or energy.
This cycle of confrontation, collection, and disposal forms the core gameplay loop. By repeating this process, the player works toward the stated goal of making the streets safer. The game represents the first release from its developer, Silmarils.
