Mighty Bombjack shifts the series from its arcade puzzle origins into a side scrolling platform format. The player controls a caped superhero whose objective is to gather bombs for points while evading enemies.
These adversaries emerge from crates and similar objects within the levels. Environmental backgrounds have been expanded to include settings like forests and clouds, alongside the pyramids and sphinx imagery familiar from the first game.
