Leisure Suit Larry III: Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals finds the protagonist in a difficult situation. After being fired by his former father-in-law, Larry is jobless and alone on a heavily commercialized island. Despite this setback, he prepares to resume his characteristic pursuits, clad in his signature leisure suit.
The gameplay retains the text parser interface and graphical engine from its immediate predecessor. Exploration is structured around a single large area for much of the experience, a design approach more aligned with the series' first game. A notable shift occurs later, as control expands to include the pianist Patti alongside Larry.
This dual-character involvement in the latter portion is central to the narrative, as both characters' actions are directed toward achieving a resolution that improves Larry's circumstances.
