Gunship 2000 Overview
Gunship 2000 is a combat flight simulation where players operate various military helicopters, including the Apache, Blackhawk, and Comanche models. Missions are generated through a dynamic campaign system across multiple maps, encompassing objectives such as assault, reconnaissance, and rescue operations.
The game features a progression system where surviving crew members gain experience over time. As a player advances in rank, they gain the ability to command multiple aircraft simultaneously to complete assigned tasks. A mission recorder function allows for the review of all unit actions during an engagement.
Available armament ranges from modern guided missiles like the Hellfire to conventional chain guns and gun pods. Opposing forces are similarly equipped with a variety of anti-aircraft systems, from advanced combined gun and missile platforms to older anti-aircraft artillery and occasional fighter aircraft. The terrain is rendered with varied elevation, including features like tunnels that aircraft can navigate.
