Full Throttle Overview
In a future where hovercrafts are supplanting traditional motorcycles, the player controls Ben, leader of the Polecats biker gang. His conflict begins after damaging a hovercraft owned by Malcolm Corley, whose company is the last motorcycle manufacturer. This incident draws Ben into a corporate conspiracy orchestrated by vice president Adrian Ripburger, setting the stage for a quest for justice.
The gameplay is a third-person adventure with a cartoon visual style consistent with other LucasArts titles. Interaction uses a context-sensitive interface where pointing at objects reveals available actions, such as using, examining, speaking, or kicking. While conversation trees are present, the overall design is more streamlined than earlier games in the genre, featuring fewer puzzles and dialogue branches.
Story progression is handled through cinematic cutscenes. The adventure is punctuated by action sequences where the player controls a motorcycle, engaging in combat with hostile riders using fists, kicks, and improvised weapons. These driving segments introduce a different pace to the primarily puzzle-oriented experience.
