The Jetsons: Invasion of the Planet Pirates is a side scrolling action game where the player controls George Jetson. The narrative begins when Captain Zoom, depleted of power after a conflict, transfers his mission to George. Zoom's enemy, Zora of SPREE, threatens to plunder the solar system's resources, prompting George to take up the fight to protect his family and galaxy.
Gameplay revolves around a versatile device called the Pneumo Osmatic Precipitator. This tool functions as a vacuum, a mobility aid, and a life support system. It allows George to traverse environments by adhering to surfaces and to attack by inhaling and expelling objects or foes. The device also permits underwater exploration.
Player progress is tracked across nine stages. George's vitality is represented by a heart based health system, which can be replenished by collecting additional hearts. Scattered food items contribute to the player's score, and achieving a sufficiently high score in a stage can unlock a bonus game.
