Extra Innings Overview
Extra Innings is a baseball simulation for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It presents a league of twelve fictional teams, with the additional ability for players to construct two of their own custom teams.
The perspective for both batting and pitching is from behind the batter. Players can configure several options, such as toggling fielding between automatic and manual control, enabling or disabling wind and errors, and deciding whether to spectate or skip computer-controlled pennant games. A specific rule, the Cold Game option, allows for an early conclusion if one team leads by a player-determined run margin.
Available modes include a standard Exhibition match for one or two players, a two-player exclusive All Star game, and a mode where the player can simply watch two computer teams compete. The Pennant Race mode involves a season where six teams play a schedule; the total number of games in this season is determined by the player.
