International Superstar Soccer is a soccer simulation for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, serving as the inaugural title in its series. It offers a selection of playable national teams, with twenty six squads represented based on their 1994 FIFA World Cup rosters.
Among its various modes is a Scenario option, which presents specific match situations to resolve, often requiring the player to secure a victory. Several of these scenarios are derived from actual matches played during that World Cup tournament. Other available modes include an International Cup, a World Series, and a Training option, alongside standard single or multiplayer Open Game matches and a dedicated Penalty Kick mode.
