Ken Griffey Jr.’s Winning Run Overview
Ken Griffey Jr.'s Winning Run is a 1996 arcade baseball title licensed by Major League Baseball. It features all 28 teams and their logos from that period, though the rosters consist of fictional players with the sole exception of Ken Griffey Jr. himself.
Gameplay covers traditional baseball actions including pitching, batting, fielding, and baserunning. The pitching system offers a variety of options beyond basic fastballs and curves, such as a Slider, Change Up, Knuckleball, Screwball, and enhanced versions like the Super Fast and Super Curve pitches.
Multiple modes are available beyond standard exhibition play. These include a full World Series, All-Star games, and an MLB League where up to eight participants can manage a team through a season of variable length. A distinct MLB Challenge mode tasks the player with improving a weak team's standing by competing against every major club.
Team management elements are present in the season and league modes. Between games, participants can adjust their line-up and pitching rotation, as well as execute player trades.
