Super Valis IV Overview
Super Valis IV presents a simplified adaptation of the original Valis IV for the Super Nintendo. The narrative centers on Lena, a girl who must demonstrate her worth to the goddess Yuko to inherit the Valis sword and confront the resurrected Prince Gallagher, whose magical ring corrupted him.
This version streamlines the experience by removing the two other protagonists, Amu and Asfal, from both the plot and playable roles. Consequently, the player controls Lena exclusively through a reduced number of stages, and the story is conveyed with fewer cutscenes compared to other releases.
Gameplay mechanics are notably altered. Lena's capabilities are adjusted; she moves at a faster run but cannot slide. The system for magic and stat enhancement is replaced, as items that increase health or magic power are absent. Instead, Lena's primary sword attack can be modified through the equipping of special items.
