Super Soccer Champ is a soccer video game with a distinctive angled horizontal scrolling perspective. The view zooms in for a close-up sequence following a goal. While only a portion of the field is visible during regular play, a separate scanner display provides a complete overview of the pitch.
The roster of international teams varies between different releases of the game. Available nations across various versions include Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, France, Spain, Japan, and the United States. A special edition called Euro Champ '92 was produced, featuring an expanded selection of exclusively European national sides and an altered method for executing a powerful super shot.
Gameplay includes the presence of a referee, though his vigilance is inconsistent. During lapses in his attention, players can engage in unsanctioned physical actions against opponents, such as fouling or punching. Both single-player and two-player modes are supported.
