Bill Walsh College Football Overview
Bill Walsh College Football is a sports simulation for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System centered on American college football. It includes a selection of 24 teams from the 1993 season alongside 24 historical squads dating back to 1978. Players can engage in single exhibition matches, structured playoff brackets, or pursue an eleven week season culminating in a National Championship game.
Gameplay systems allow for a variety of actions on both sides of the ball. Offensive players can execute moves like diving, spinning, and hurdling, while a separate window displays receivers during passing plays. Defensive maneuvers include diving tackles and attempts to block kicks or intercept passes by raising hands. The available playbooks contain over 50 formations each for offense and defense.
Environmental and match conditions are customizable. Four weather types are present: fair, windy, rain, and snow. The length of each quarter can also be adjusted, with options for 20, 40, or 60 minute periods.
