Strike Gunner S.T.G. is a vertical-scrolling shooter set in the year 2008. Players pilot a fighter jet against continuous waves of airborne, terrestrial, and naval enemies.
The experience is challenging, as progress depends on a finite number of lives that can only be extended through skilled performance; mission failure is permanent with no save functionality. A cooperative two-player mode is available.
Gameplay involves a primary gun and a strategic pre-level choice of a single special weapon, powered by a frequently replenishing meter. This selection is permanent for that stage and cannot be changed or reused later.
