Musya: The Classic Japanese Tale of Horror Overview
Musya: The Classic Japanese Tale of Horror is a side-scrolling action game where the player controls a pikeman named Imoto. His quest is to rescue Shizuka, a villager who has been abducted along with a talisman that seals a powerful evil entity.
Imoto's primary weapon is a spear, which can be used for direct thrusts or wider spinning attacks. The journey progresses through a series of distinct stages, including caverns, catacombs, palaces, and a watery prison, each populated with enemies and concluding with a boss encounter.
Beyond his spear, Imoto can employ five different magic spells, such as Thunder and Flame, which affect all on-screen enemies when cast. These spells are stored as scrolls, with a maximum capacity of four for each type. Used scrolls can be replaced by collecting items found within the stages.
