D-Force Overview
D-Force is a top-down scrolling shooter for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System where the player pilots a helicopter. The core activity involves navigating through levels and engaging a variety of hostile targets.
Gameplay is structured around two distinct modes. The primary mode focuses on combat against military vehicles like warplanes. A secondary exploration mode shifts the setting, pitting the helicopter against aggressive animals instead of mechanized foes.
Defeated enemies can leave behind power-ups that enhance the helicopter's capabilities. These upgrades modify the primary weapon or provide secondary armaments such as homing missiles. During exploration, the shoulder buttons allow for altitude adjustment, adding a vertical element to both evasion and attack strategies.
