Cannon Fodder Overview
Cannon Fodder is a top-down action title with strategic elements, where players manage a squad of soldiers through numerous combat scenarios. Control is indirect, with players selecting individuals or groups to issue movement and attack commands. The environment plays a significant role in tactics, as terrain like trees can provide cover for both the player's units and opposing forces.
Mission objectives vary, and the game incorporates elements like vehicles to assist in completing goals. Troops can traverse bodies of water but are unable to fire their weapons while doing so, making the control of bridges a common strategic consideration. In addition to standard firearms, soldiers can utilize explosive ordnance such as grenades and rockets, which are effective against clustered enemies, structures, and certain vehicles.
