Sensible Golf Overview
Sensible Golf is a 2D sports title from the developers of Sensible Soccer, applying a similar philosophy of streamlined, accessible play to golf. It is not a detailed simulation, omitting factors like wind and complex terrain, which makes the overall experience easy to approach. The primary gameplay challenge comes from navigating water and sand hazards while judging distance and slope, the latter indicated by arrows on the green.
Control is simplified to a three-click system for setting power and direction, with aiming handled by a pointer. While the game suggests a club automatically, manual selection is possible. A pop-up map provides orientation during play. The courses are constructed from a shared pool of fictional holes, which may be reused or slightly altered across different layouts.
Available modes include single 18-hole rounds, a full season, and tournaments that can accommodate a large number of participants. With its focus on straightforward target shooting over realistic golf mechanics, the design prioritizes quick and uncomplicated sessions.
