Whip Rush Overview
Whip Rush is a shooter that primarily scrolls horizontally, though it incorporates vertical movement during specific sections. The player's ship is equipped with a set of rotating, extendable Power Claws, which serve both offensive and defensive roles and can be outfitted in pairs. These claws are capable of firing projectiles independently.
Weapon systems are upgradeable and include several distinct types. A rapid, powerful Laser fires directly forward, while Missiles can be launched in multiple directions and gain homing capabilities when fired from the Power Claws. The Fireball weapon operates uniquely, deploying in the opposite direction of the ship's travel.
Player resources are tied to the selected difficulty level, determining whether one begins with three, four, or six ships. A notable mechanical feature is the ship's variable speed, which aids in navigating through enemy formations and environmental obstacles. This makes the pacing challenging and adaptable.
